ABSTRACT

The purposes of this study are to design a model for systematic and standardized curriculum of elementary school computer education.

The curriculum model of this study is designed to help 5th, and 6th graders to acquire those skills and knowledge that are essential to an effective use of ICτ As yet, however, there has been no regular classes related to computer and information communication in elementary schools Accordingly, as elementary students move up to the upper grade levels, due to the consequences of private education,i.e., student’ s-own-family-funded education, the gap between the regions and students is widened in terms of the ability to use ICT Taking this aspect into consideration, this study suggested a model that can be applied to each individual learner at the grade levels of 5th, and 6th. This study analyzed the results of the evaluation after the instruction of ICT using assessment tools based on the curriculum developed for the study. In the future, in order to enhance objectivity and effectiveness of the curriculum, the students in the rural areas along with those in the urban areas should be evaluated.
