ABSTRACT

This article investigated the effect s of e-mail portfolio on the composition written by Korean high school students who had relatively high proficiency. With this goal this study attempted to explor e whether the portfolio feedback enhance the writing ability of EFL high school students or not. If so, how the effectiveness of e-mail portfolio related to the writing proficiency of the students, and which components are affect ed by the writing modes. Result s showed that writing mode affected the score of the writing proficiency and e-mail portfolio was more effective than traditional feedback in enhancing EFL writing proficiency. The results also indicated that the writing components , such as cont ent and vocabulary was affected by the writing mode significantly. These findings suggest that for eign language writing, especially for high proficient high school students in EFL situation, will be improved by the e-mail portfolio.
