요약

본 연구는 심화․보충형 수준별 영어수업 모형 개발ㆍ적용이 말하기․듣기 능력과 자기주도적 학습태도에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 6학년 2개 학급을 연구대상으로하여 실험반에는 심화․보충형 수준별 학습을 적용하고 비교반에는 영어 교과서 체제에 맞춘 일반 수업을 적용하였다.

이에 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 심화․보충형 수준별 영어수업은 말하기․듣기 능력 향상에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 심화․보충형 수준별 영어수업은 자기주도적 학습태도에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 얻은 연구결과를 바탕으로 결론은 다음과 같이 제시할 수 있다. 첫째, 심화․보충형 수준별 영어수업은 영어 말하기․듣기 능력 향상에 효과적이기 때문에, 학습자의 능력․수준․적성에 적합한 다양한 심화․보충형 수준별 영어수업을 설계하고 적용할 필요성이 있다. 둘째, 심화․보충형 수준별 영어수업은 자기주도적 학습태도 향상에 효과적이기 때문에, 학습자 스스로 개별적인 영어학습을 할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발할 필요성이 있다.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the development and application of intensive and complementary level-differentiated English lesson models on children's speaking and listening skills and self-directed learning attitudes. For that purpose, two sixth grade classes participated in the study. While the experiment group received intensive and complementary level-differentiated classes, the comparison groups did general classes according to the system of the English textbook. The findings were as follows; first, it turned out that the intensive and complementary level-differentiated English classes were effective in enhancing the students' speaking and listening skills. And secondly, the intensive and complementary level-differentiated English classes were also effective in improving their self-directed learning attitudes.

Based on those results, the following suggestions were made; first, since it was proved that intensive and complementary level-differentiated English instructions were effective in promoting children's speaking and listening skills, it's necessary to design and apply more diverse intensive and complementary level-differentiated English classes according to the abilities, levels, and aptitudes of the students. And secondly, with the proven effects of intensive and complementary level-differentiated English classes on children's self-directed learning attitudes, it would be helpful to develop programs that could allow the students to study English on their own.
